<p>customedialabs’ work for The Greek America Foundation’s 2011 Gabby Awards won the IMA Best in Class Award, in the Events category.  The Best in Class award is the highest honor bestowed by the IMA and represents the very best in planning, execution and overall expertise in website design.<br />customedialabs was honored for creating a new website and an enterprise-level content management system for the Gabby Awards, along with an engaging new brand and an inspiring theme.  The dynamic web presence generated increased sponsorships from worldwide donors, social media buzz, and extensive press interest.</p>

PN9 serves as a uniquely designed portfolio review event in a “speed-dating” setting. The event helps students and aspiring young creatives to break into the advertising industry by having their working portfolios reviewed by the Philadelphia’s top Creative Directors. The event takes place worldwide and locally in Philadelphia on May 26, 2011.</p>
<p>customedialabs created the inspiring theme of the PN9 Philadelphia event, “There’s a Better Way to Get a Job in Advertising.” They also delivered a multi-channel promotional campaign including posters, HTML blasts, world-wide distributed program book pages highlighting the Philadelphia sponsors and a promotional video.</p>
<p>Each campaign component highlights the theme of PN9 Philadelphia by showcasing “black magic” designs in each execution. Instead of sending a card, customedialabs is using an interactive microsite to send holiday cheer. The site allows users to learn more about the PRMH’s Guest Chef Program by viewing three inspirational experiences of volunteer groups. Visitors can also view candid photos of each group and listen to heartfelt testimonials about the importance of volunteering and giving back during the holidays and year-round. </p>

<p>customedialabs developed the Cordis S.M.A.R.T. ® Stent Tutorial, which walked users through illustrative information on the benefits of the product and its advantages when compared to other stents available. Corresponding HTML and Flash email communications were created to catch the attention of potential users and draw them to the tutorial for more information. The Rich Media tutorial helped initiate conversations, enabling Endovascular sales reps to discuss the S.M.A.R.T. ® Stent with physicians – highlighting the key design benefits while pointing out the design weaknesses of competitor stents.</p>
<p>For the Cordis L.E.S Campaign, customedialabs implemented a digital media campaign that showcased the quality and potential of Cordis products in achieving better surgical results. Campaign components included a physician targeted rich media communication, HTML email and landing page.</p>
<p>Lastly, CML takes home an Award of Excellence in the Product Website category for Gore TAG® Thoracic Device Microsite for W.L Gore &amp; Associates, Inc.</p>

The toolkit empowered Cordis salesforce to showcase the complete portfolio of LES products to physicians, leveraging the iPAQ, a phone-sized mobile device from Hewlett Packard. The LES Toolkit has been one of the first implementations of eDetailing in the Medical Device &amp; Diagnostic space that utilizes the iPAQ device as the delivery platform.</p>
<p>Similarly, the S.M.A.R.T® Control Stent Campaign has been praised as one of the best digital campaign initiatives within Cordis. This rich media campaign informs physicians about the science behind the S.M.A.R.T® Control Stent, one of the most successful Endovascular products in the Cordis lineup. The success of this campaign in North America led to a launch in front of a global audience in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.</p>
<p>The B2 Awards, the new name for the Pro-Comm Awards, BMA's 34-year old annual national marketing communications competition, recognizes the work business marketers and agencies do to engage employees, sales forces, channel partners, government and consumers.</p>
<p>The judging took place online May 5-19th at BMA's headquarters in Naperville, IL, where a panel of distinguished marketing leaders reviewed hundreds of entries that spanned over 29 categories and 200 divisions, covering the breadth of business-to-business marketing and communications.</p>

                           <![CDATA[<p>On June 12, Manos Sifakis, President and CEO of customedialabs, an interactive media agency, joined an elite group of awardees at the West Chicago City Center Hotel for the Greek America Foundation's inaugural &quot;Forty Under 40&quot; awards reception. Sifakis was recognized as being one of the country's most influential young Greek Americans for his work as the founder and leader of customedialabs, an independent agency with locations in both Philadelphia and Greece.</p>
<p>A distinguished panel of business and community leaders chose Sifakis from over 400 nominees. Candidates were selected based on their professional achievements as well as demonstrated community support. &nbsp;</p>
<p>In addition to being honored at the June ceremony, Sifakis was featured in the July edition of <em>Greek America</em> magazine and was gifted a four-day trip to Costa Navarino, located in southwest Greece.</p>

<p>The annual event took place this year at Philadelphia's Please Touch Museum, located inside historic Memorial Hall, the former home of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the 1876 World's Fair. More than 600 members of the area's creative community met at the Museum to celebrate and view recent award-winning work produced by themselves and their peers.</p>

This year's 23rd Annual Show took place on November 12, 2009, at New York City's Metropolitan Ballroom.</p>
<p>Receiving four Awards of Excellence in the Interactive category, customedialabs' winning entries, which were displayed at the Show, included campaigns for clients Wyeth Healthcare Systems (recently acquired by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals) and Cordis, a Johnson and Johnson company.</p>
<p>The Wyeth Insight Report Series campaign, which combined email marketing, rich media communications, a microsite and a highly interactive report viewer, won for &quot;Best Healthcare Professional Website.&quot; The campaign's goal was to transform the pharmaceutical company's latest series of trend reports, known as the &quot;Insight Report Series,&quot; from traditional paper booklets into rich digital experiences. The microsite's features include an interactive toolbar and &quot;My Charts and Figures,&quot; a digital depository where registered users can store their preferred report assets.</p>
<p>&quot;Sales in the City,&quot; an integrated-media campaign for Cordis, won in the category of &quot;Training Tools.&quot; The campaign was created to educate the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa sales force in the AIDINC sales process, based on customer-focused selling principles. Consisting of six webisodes, released both online and in DVD format, it showcased the process through the real-life interaction of a man and a woman meeting by chance while traveling by train in Europe.</p>
<p>The third entry in the Show, the Cordis Star Products campaign, won in the category of &quot;Email Communications.&quot; This campaign promoted three leading endovascular products that partially comprise Cordis' Lower Extremity Solutions product line, featuring individual campaigns for each product with email marketing, rich media communications and microsites deployed to target and engage endovascular physicians and healthcare professionals.</p>

<p>Judgment in the IMA competition is based on a point system in which submissions are scored individually on a scale from 1-100 (1 being worst; 100 being best) in five different categories, including design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance/cross-browser compatibility. The level of award a winning submission receives is determined by its overall score out of 500.</p>
<p>In the category of &quot;Pharmaceutical,&quot; customedialabs was awarded the highest honor of &quot;Best in Class&quot; for a Wyeth Healthcare Systems campaign, earning a total score of 485 out of 500.                            <![CDATA[<p>The Cordis North America Endovascular sales team now has a new, highly interactive mobile application to use when meeting with physicians: the Lower Extremity Solutions (LES) Toolkit, designed for the iPAQ pocket PC. </p>
<p>Developed by customedialabs as a way of giving the sales team instant access to critical product- and procedure-related information while in the field, the iPAQ LES Toolkit application includes a variety of data on three key Cordis medical devices: the Outback® LTD® Re-entry Catheter, the Frontrunner® XP CTO Catheter and the S.M.A.R.T.® CONTROL® Iliac Stent.</p>
<p>The content, presented in a dynamic, rich-media format, spans a variety of information and functionality, including product overviews, animations, video testimonials, data slideshows and graphics with zoomable &quot;hotspots,&quot; or close-ups of specific attributes of other companies' products that help demonstrate to physicians how Cordis measures up to its competition.</p>
<p>When first approached by Cordis with this project, customedialabs was asked to extend the use of the sales force's iPAQ, a handheld device powered by the Microsoft Windows Mobile OS and traditionally used as an inventory-management system. It became apparent that the iPAQ could become an ideal delivery platform for marketing and business development content. To that effect, customedialabs quickly began work on developing this platform further and enhancing the business-development experience by re-architecting existing content and transforming it into rich-media content accessible from the digital device.</p>

<p>Our site was highlighted in particular for its creative incorporation of the &quot;humble webcam.&quot; As writer Christian Hall puts it: &quot;It's good to see a design company take a different view: that a webcam can in fact be the main focus for a site.&quot; He continues on to discuss the unique technical process we undertook in implementing the webcam and its accompanying feed on our site.</p>

                           <![CDATA[<p>Cordis Corporation, a division of Johnson and Johnson, is gearing up for the launch of a product that could change the face of coronary stenting.</p>
<p>Named NEVO, as in &quot;new evolution,&quot; this new Drug-Eluting Stent (DES) will incorporate sophisticated reservoir technology and could replace CYPHER, Cordis' current and most widely used stent, as a benchmark by which other stents of its kind are measured.</p>
<p>Cordis asked customedialabs, its go-to agency for work on cardiovascular campaigns within its EMEA division, to create a comprehensive Direct-to-Physician (DTP) campaign to promote its symposium at EuroPCR 2009, where a panel of experts would reveal the critical results of the first clinical trial pitting NEVO against a competing product. Because these results were a mystery even to Cordis, the campaign needed to reflect the &quot;surprise&quot; element of the symposium as well as entice physicians to attend a late-afternoon symposium—not an easy task, as EuroPCR '09 took place at picturesque Barcelona, Spain.</p>
<p>customedialabs' solution was to position the NEVO symposium as the ultimate experience not to be missed, generating the slogan &quot;Experience May 20, 2009&quot;: a simple but powerful campaign theme that played up the importance and mysteriousness of the event, while cementing the date in EuroPCR attendees' minds.                            <![CDATA[<p>On May 11-14, customedialabs (CML) headed to the Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers (SPBT) Annual Conference in Chicago to show attendees how we put the &quot;media&quot; in Innovative Print &amp; Media Group (IPMG), the company with which we shared our conference booth.                            <![CDATA[<p>If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then customedialabs has been feeling pretty flattered ever since one of the largest interactive services firms in the world, Avenue A-Razorfish, unveiled its newly redesigned corporate site.&nbsp; This new site not only encompasses the look and feel of customedialabs' website, but also borrows the concept that customedialabs created in the summer of 2007.</p>
<p>Visiting the new site is a déjà-vu experience, to say the least. While it might not be apparent to the untrained eye, the site resembles the customedialabs site in more ways than one. We were a bit taken aback at first, but we're now&nbsp;extremely &nbsp; honored. In the end, it gives customedialabs the push to take the company site to the next level.</p>
<p>Web analytics verify that Avenue A's parent company, aQuantive, visited the customedialabs website more than 10 times in the months leading up to its redesign, breaking down the amount of visits per user and pages viewed (including the actual amount of time spent per page). </p>
<p>customedialabs is not particularly surprised by the direct competition and understands that it is much easier to imitate a smaller, flourishing agency than to create a fresh, new-found value proposition from scratch.</p>

                           <![CDATA[<p>BAAR - The TYPO3 Association 4.x Development Team has released a new version of its very successful open-source project. TYPO3 has been downloaded more than 3,000,000 times from Sourceforge.org, making it one of the world's leading enterprise open-source products. The main focus of the new 4.2 version is improving usability, but there are also many enhancements for system administrators and developers. Including bug fixes, there are nearly 650 enhancements in TYPO3 4.2.<br /><br />In addition, the new TYPO3 version now requires at least PHP 5.2.0 to run. PHP 4 has served the web developer community for more than seven years, but its time has passed. PHP 5 was released three years ago and offers many improvements. In partnership with other popular open-source projects, TYPO3 joined the &quot;goPHP5&quot; initiative and agreed to move to PHP 5 and to formally stop supporting PHP 4.<br /><br />This release incorporated substantial changes to the TYPO3 backend interface aiming to improve the usability for end users. Major new features include a top stationary icon and option bar called a &quot;document header&quot;; tabbed forms for editing page properties and content elements; page-type dropdown menu items grouped by categories; currently open documents accessible via the document header bar; and page trees and file trees that can be collapsed or expanded as desired.</p>
<p>The &quot;Cleaner Backend Project&quot;&nbsp;that began with TYPO3 4.0 now has completed its task to restructure the TYPO3 backend. This included enhancements to the included t3skin extension, which improves the overall appearance as well.</p>
<p>&nbsp;TYPO3 uses &quot;htmlArea&quot; as the default Rich Text Editor (RTE) for content editing. The RTE has been updated with several enhancements, including support for Apple's Safari browser and many bug fixes. In addition, for developers, a new plug-in API enables TYPO3 extensions to extend the RTE.<br /><br />The Template Module now includes an improved TypoScript editor with syntax highlighting, code snippets and more. Also, the Constant Editor incorporates a more-intuitive interface that eliminates the need for a checkbox next to each field.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>TYPO3 4.2. has a new login-box system extension called &quot;felogin.&quot; This is an enhanced version of the &quot;newloginbox&quot; extension and is now integrated into the TYPO3 core software. When installed, the new extension will replace the old login content element. The new extension comes with a new redirection framework and many configuration options, but runs well using only the default settings.<br /><br />The Workspaces module with its workflow features was introduced in TYPO3 4.0 and has been improved in TYPO3 4.2. Kasper Skårhøj implemented the long-desired feature to more easily move elements in a workspace. In addition, workspace element &quot;swapping&quot; is now possible for new and deleted elements, just as it has been for changed elements. Also, workspace updates can now be previewed by users who do not have a backend user account. A special link enables access and that link can be sent via e-mail.</p>
<p>Several performance improvements have been included in TYPO3 4.2 as well. Speed enhancements have been made to indexed search, local caches, caching of language files and internal caching of the character set. Also, the &quot;Page is being generated&quot; message has been eliminated using a new locking mechanism.<br /><br />Core Team Leader Michael Stucki states, &quot;I'm really proud of the new version and what we have accomplished. There have been so many changes and improvements that it's really difficult to focus on just one aspect. TYPO3 4.2 is the result of a combined team effort resulting in a wide range of new functions.&quot;</p>

                           <![CDATA[<p>Chicago's Museum of Science &amp; Industry (MSI) is the oldest science museum of its kind in the western hemisphere, attracting approximately 2 million visitors each year. MSI is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Chicago and among seven of the most-visited museums in the United States. As the first museum in North America to develop the idea of hands-on, interactive exhibits, its only fitting that MSI's brand identity and web property remain on the cutting edge and as interactive as possible.</p>
<p>To that end, MSI decided the time was right for rebranding, as well as redesigning user experience and re-architecting website functionality. MSI wanted its new site to have a rich user experience for the museum's various exhibits, events, activities and multiple dynamic-content areas. To manage those numerous assets and content areas, MSI needed a robust content management system that would provide a scalable platform to support the website's maintenance and evolution without the need for a full-time web team. </p>
<p>MSI selected customedialabs, a Philadelphia-based interactive agency, and TYPO3 as the Content Management System (CMS) of choice. MSI also selected Odopod, a San Francisco-based interactive agency, to develop the site's user experience. </p>
<p>The new site is currently in production with an expected launch date of March 2008. </p>

The site launched as scheduled -- just in time for Live Earth New York on July 7, 2007, part of the 24-hour, seven-continent concert series that brought together more than 150 music artists to combat the global climate crisis. </p>
<p>As a subsidiary of Iberdrola, the largest owner and operator of renewable energy facilities in the world, <a href="http://www.newwindenergy.com/"rel="external" >Community Energy</a> operates as a marketer and developer of wind energy generation in Radnor, Pennsylvania. The company hired customedialabs to develop a unique web presence that was easily accessible and user friendly to launch in conjunction with the Live Earth New York concert. Community Energy provided the &quot;power&quot; for the electricity used at the Giants Stadium concert, with locally produced wind-energy credits from the country's only coastal wind farm.</p>
<p>Community Energy was in need of a solution that would empower the company to manage its website internally. As a growing organization in which its key players wear multiple hats, it was critical that CML deliver a turnkey solution. The core of the new site is TYPO3, an open-source content management solution that enables any user, regardless of his or her level of technical knowledge, to make changes and updates to website content at any time. </p>

The calculator not only strikes a chord with the environmentally conscious community but also operates as an incomparable lead-generation tool.</p>
<p>Today, Community Energy is able to use the site to add landing pages for specific campaigns, update promotional pods on several areas of the site and modify content as needed.</p>
