Today, I want to establish a definition for eDetailing and explain exactly what it is.\u00a0 I know, it sounds tedious, but don\u2019t X this tab just yet!<\/p>\n
The truth is, when I started working at customedialabs, I had never heard the term eDetailing before.\u00a0 (Gasp! <\/em>I know. )\u00a0 Luckily for me, the rest of the team at customedialabs are eDetailing experts! So, they got me caught up in no time.<\/p>\n Now that I\u2019ve sucked all the knowledge from their brains like a marketing zombie, I\u2019d love to start talking about how great I think it is and some of the awesome things we are doing with it here, BUT \u2013 I think it\u2019s important that we all start at the same place.<\/p>\n With a really good definition.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Piece by piece <\/strong><\/p>\n Let\u2019s start with the word \u2018detailing\u2019.\u00a0 When I think of the word \u2018detailing\u2019, I think of car detailing.\u00a0 And how my car is really dirty and could use a good detailing.\u00a0 And how I really shouldn\u2019t leave all my shoes in the car because I have a closet for that.<\/p>\n So, it\u2019s actually a different kind of detailing.<\/p>\n Detailing, as a sales term means providing details about a product.\u00a0 Detailing includes fact sheets, videos, testimonials, brochures, and anything else that is meant to be promotional. You know, the details about the product.<\/p>\n Then, of course, adding the letter \u2018e\u2019 to the front of a word makes it automatically cool in the \u201890s.\u00a0 But it\u2019s no longer the \u201890s, as demonstrated by the lack of plaid flannel in my wardrobe.\u00a0 So it really means \u201celectronic\u201d.\u00a0 And in the case of eDetailing, it means that all those promotional detailing materials are electronic files.<\/p>\n Putting it all together, eDetailing can be defined as \u201celectronically-delivered promotional materials that provide details about a product\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n What do you think?<\/strong><\/p>\n I know you were probably expecting something a little more deep and intellectual from this post since it\u2019s titled \u201cwhat everybody ought to know about eDetailing\u201d.<\/p>\n But what everybody ought to know, before they know everything else, is a definition of what we\u2019re talkin\u2019 about here!\u00a0 We\u2019ll get to the deep and intellectual stuff; we have some more posts on eDetailing coming soon.<\/p>\n Zombies and my closet aside – what do you think of the definition?\u00a0 Is there anything I am missing?\u00a0 What do you want to know about eDetailing?<\/p>\n I\u2019d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Did you come here to get tips for creating a highly successful eDetailing campaign?
