Non-Profit Website Redesign

Non-Profit Website Redesign

The Challenge

Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland facilitates and promotes the life-saving power of organ and tissue donation in their state. They need a website that allows them to organize and manage large amounts of content with efficient navigation. They also want to inspire their audience with compelling personal stories about donation, engage people using interactive content, and educate the public about the organ donation process.

The Challenge

Our Solution

After a detailed discovery process, we developed a new website that delights the client. By selecting a nimble, user-friendly content management system (CMS), we've enabled the client's site editors to easily manage their content in house. Success stories are featured on a full-width slideshow below the header, and the interactive content below is organized and visually accessible. Vital information about the organ donation process is prominently displayed. There are also sections for featured news and social media feeds, which further encourage audience engagement.

Our Solution

Experience Architecture

After doing a thorough content audit, we proposed a new information architecture and navigation system for the website. By implementing Search with filters, breadcrumbs, and interactive elements, the client’s content is efficiently organized and easy for users to locate.

Branding Elements

The client wants their website to be friendly and welcoming. To accomplish this, we chose a color palette and typography that projects calm approachability. We also designed custom graphics and icons to give the website a fresh look.

Technology

We used TYPO3 to build the website. It's an open source CMS with front-end editing capabilities that allow content to be edited in the same front end that site visitors see. It offers flexible designs, built-in image editing, and an advanced rich text editor. Editors can make changes quickly and can see their changes in context. We built custom plugins that make it easy to submit and approve donor success stories, and we also integrated several social media widgets. Our SEO efforts have measurably increased website traffic. All of this means the client can spend less time on website management and more time on their vital mission.
